Who I am:
I’m Jesus Cano I’m 24 years old from Puebla, Mexico, I majored on International Trade back on 2013, from the time I was studying I always had the intention to come to Asia to broaden my knowledge of the know-how of doing business and discover how does the factory of the world works.
That’s why after a few months of working on the family business in 2014 I decided to search for new opportunities abroad specially in China, after some research and couple of Skype interviews I got the opportunity to come to China 2 West as an intern for a period of 6 months.
During my compulsory placement at university I had the opportunity to work in Mexico’s national Trade and Investment Agency as Assistant for the Exports Promotion Unit, doing a lot of marketing and research based activities that served as foundation for the activities I performed in my internship and keep performing up to date.
What I learned at C2W:
I came to the beautiful coastal city of Zhuhai on the summer of 2014 as a Marketing intern, my primary activities were to develop a marketing strategy to increase the company’s footprint, from social media based activities to the design of materials for international Tradeshows and maintenance of the contents shown on the website.
What makes China 2 West special for me:
China 2 West is a great company that has a great mix of foreign and Chinese culture and staff which makes it a great place to work. Even more importantly you’re able to learn, not only workwise but also by sharing every day with people from different countries and backgrounds you learn a lot about different cultures. What I love the most about China 2 West is that every effort is always appreciated and awarded.
After my internship back in December 2014, C2W offered me a full time position, and I’m here ever since as head of the Marketing team.
Why Zhuhai’s a great spot:
Zhuhai is a wonderful place, and its people it’s always nice and welcoming with the foreigners even though if you don’t speak the language, I love living here because in spite of being in China, Zhuhai it’s a relatively non crowded city in which you can still enjoy one of the many green areas around the city or a simple walk along the sea side without being submerged into a sea of people. And also its location right next to Macau and one hour distance from Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, make it a great place either if you are traveling from or to China or if you want to have a weekend escapade.
